Log your ICF coaching hours

Updated 4 October 2026

ICF Hours Tracking shows every session counted toward your credential, with the total hours logged across all of them. This is entirely about your own record-keeping β€” it's separate from recording consent, and your clients aren't asked about it or involved in the decision.

  1. Open ICF Hours Tracking.
  2. Tick Count new clients' sessions toward my ICF hours to make this the default for every client you add from now on.

  3. For an individual client, open their profile and use Count [client's name]'s sessions toward my ICF hours under Your ICF hours to override the default just for them.

Hours are logged automatically once a counted session is completed β€” you don't add them by hand here. For a session booked against a package, the package also needs Track this package's sessions in my ICF coaching hours log ticked. Each row in the list shows the client, the hours logged, whether it was auto-logged or manual, and the date, with a link through to that session's notes.

Team and group sessions are logged by hand, by ICF's group rules. On the team or group's Sessions tab, a held session offers Log ICF hours: the time counts once, each person who was there with their ICF tick on counts as a client, and the group size and one ICF contact are recorded (a warning shows above 15 people). A team or group member who isn't your client gets their own tick in the ICF hours column of the team's People list; a client's tick stays the one on their client page. These entries appear here under the team or group's name, with the group size and whether the session was paid or pro bono, and the totals count each person once across one-to-one and group sessions.
